Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois says victory over Eibar was an ideal warm-up for the Champions League clash with Liverpool.

Courtois was also pleased with his clean sheet for the 2-0 win.

He said, “Our first-half performance was very good and we could have perhaps scored another goal or two. We kept that up in the second half, but things became a bit tougher with the wind and the long balls. They then went with two up top.

"They played some long balls and put a lot of crosses in and when you've got the wind behind you, that tactic works well. We dealt with it well and won the game.

“We kept our cool and got that second goal. The gaffer made a few changes. When there's so much space out there, you do go in search of that third goal, but the most important thing was that we kept a clean sheet. We come away with good vibes and in confident mood ahead of the Liverpool game."
