Real Madrid coach Ancelotti: Gattuso and I have had personal problems

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti admits he doesn't get along with Valencia counterpart Rino Gattuso.

The pair face-off in the Supercopa de Espana semifinal today in Saudi Arabia.

Of his former AC Milan midfielder, Ancelotti said: "We had some very nice moments. We have had personal problems that I don't want to talk about.

"From the AC Milan team I coached there have been many coaches, each with his own style and knowledge. Gattuso, Inzaghi, Nesta...".

Real Madrid's team selection against Villarreal came under fire due to the fact the starting XI didn't contain a single Spanish player, but Ancelotti was keen to play down the significance of this.

"It was a coincidence that no Spaniards played. The hallmark of this club is Spanish and, moreover, it is a universal club. It is the club that produces the most Spaniards for the Spanish national team," he declared.

He also took the time to comment on Gareth Bale's retirement and Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Saudi Arabia.

"Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Bale have been legends of our club and we wish them all the best," he stated.

"The best demonstration of what they want in Saudi Arabia is Cristiano's presence here."
