Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti explained rowing with match officials after their 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano.
Dani Carvajal was sent off for Real in injury-time.
Ancelotti said: "I didn't talk to the fourth referee about Carvajal's expulsion. It was about the shirt grabs. He explained to me that not all of them are cards. I think it was good refereeing.
"How can I answer? Here, we have to win every game. But to win the League, don't lose the ones you can't win. I think it's an important step to win the League.
"It's not easy to win on this field, which is shorter. You have to play a different game. We started very well, but then everything got complicated."
On his players protesting against decisions: "These are issues that I will discuss on a personal level with the players. You can understand a bit of protest in the face of so many duels.
"I think we played with intensity. Their approach worked out well for them. It is a point that does not make us happy today, but over time it will be given value."
