Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain turned out for the Castilla during the week. The Argentine has recovered from back surgery performed in January.
"He (Higuain) played for the first time in a match with Real Madrid Castilla," Real coach Jose Mourinho said.
"He managed 60 minutes, with 30 minutes in each half. He is not at 100 per cent but is on his way.
"I don't know if he will be back against Sporting (Gijon) but he will be back soon and it will be a welcome boost.
"It is important to have him for the remainder of the season."
