Real Betis coach Pellegrini pushed about De Gea; praises Vieites on debut for Sevilla draw

Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini was pushed about signing David de Gea after yesterday's 1-1 draw with Sevilla.

The former Manchester United goalkeeper is in talks with Betis after they lost veteran Claudio Bravo to injury for several months.

“They are speculations and at this moment I couldn't give you any version, but if you ask me I would say that I don't believe it," shrugged Pellegrini.

B team goalkeeper Fran Vieites made his debut in the Primera for the El Gran Derbi and Pellegrini said: "I think what happened with Fran was more or less what we expected from him.

"He trains every day, he is a goalkeeper who has many abilities, he did not have the slightest responsibility for the goal, he was calm and for me it was a very good performance.

"We know how difficult it is to practically debut in professional football with everything that the outside environment entails."
