Reading have opened swap talks with Portsmouth over winger Stephen Hunt.
The Daily Mail says Reading are locked in talks with Portsmouth about a possible swap deal for David Nugent with Hunt moving in the opposition direction.
Winger Hunt, who turns 28 on Saturday, is desperate for a return to the Barclays Premier League and is understood to be at the top of Portsmouth boss Part Hart's wish list.
The Republic of Ireland international held talks with the South Coast club about a possible £3.5m move earlier this week after the Royals agreed to drop their £5m asking price.
However debt-ridden Pompey may favour Reading's swap proposal for striker Nugent, who has failed to live up to his £6m price tag since moving to Fratton Park in 2007.
