Reading boss Steve Coppell is confident of keeping Stephen Hunt and Nicky Shorey beyond the January transfer window.

Sunderland and Everton are tracking Republic of Ireland winger Hunt but Coppell said last night:

"There are a lot of clubs linked with our players. With Stephen I see why it happens. He is an outstanding player.

"But I don't think keeping them will be a problem, I really don't."
