Mads Bidstrup says he has no regrets over his time with Brentford after leaving for RB Salzburg.

The Denmark winger left the Bees for Salzburg this summer.

"I have nothing but respect for the way Thomas (Frank, Brentford manager) and the others have handled the whole situation," said Bidstrup.

"When I came in I was honest with Brentford, saying I needed to be somewhere where I knew I would play a decisive role.

"I was realistic, so I probably knew very well that it would not be in Brentford. Therefore, I was very honest with Thomas, and I told him that I would really rather go somewhere else.

"We had a lot of good talks and he was very honest with me about how he saw my role.

"I have nothing but respect for the way they handled the situation. Thomas is a fantastic coach, but really also a fantastic person."
