RB Leipzig director Rangnick reveals why he couldn't hold onto Liverpool-bound Keita

RB Leipzig director Ralf Rangnick has admitted he could not compete with the wage Liverpool offered Naby Keita.

The Guinean midfielder will join the Reds next season for €55 million, the release clause in his contract.

"He's one of the best I've worked with in 20 years of professional football," Rangnick told Kicker.

"I'd also prefer, 10 times, that we'd kept him for another five years -- but we are just not able to pay salaries in excess of €10m."
