Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has paid tribute to Norman Whiteside after he was overlooked by the club.
United hailed the 22-year-old for following George Best and Ryan Giggs as the youngest players to reach 200 games for the club.
However, it was later revealed that the Premier League giants had made a mistake after Whiteside's wife Dee highlighted that her husband had a brought up his double century at a younger age than all three players.
So Rashford added his recognition of Whiteside on Sunday after learning of the error, writing: "Appreciation tweet for the great Norman Whiteside. Never to be overlooked."
Whiteside, remains the youngest player to appear at a World Cup final after he featured for Northern Ireland in 1982.
