Claudio Ranieri admitted he had to give an opportunity to some of his unused Leicester City players on Wednesday night.
The likes of Ben Hamer, Marcin Wasilewski, Luis Hernandez, Ben Chilwell, Nampalys Mendy, Jeff Schlupp and 18-year-old Harvey Barnes were all given game time at Estadio do Dragao as the Foxes crashed 5-0 to the Portuguese giants.
However, the result did not effect Leicester's Champions League hopes as they already had top spot in Group G sewn up.
Ranieri said: "I have no regrets because I wanted to give an opportunity to all my players.
"If I needed to win or draw, I would bring all my first team to fight. But when you know there is another difficult match Saturday against Man City and you are top of the group, why not give a chance to players who say 'why I don't play? We are losing in the Premier League, give me a chance'.
"For this reason, I give a chance to them. That's it. Then, the result is my fault but they missed a great chance. We wanted to see something different tonight, but it was too easy for Porto. We didn't make them fight to score."
Leicester finished on 13 points from their very first Champions League group stage campaign to end up two points clear of Porto, who will join them in the Round of 16.
