Rafa Benitez says he's prepared to commit to a new deal with Newcastle United.

The Newcastle manager has dismissed suggestions he is looking for a big job in France, with Lyon interested, and says his “focus" is only on agreeing a deal with the Geordies.

Benitez said, “The only club I'm talking about my future now is Newcastle United and I'm waiting for an answer.

“Actually, answers. They were coming with something, we are coming with something, that's it. The ball is in their court.

“It was Lee Charnley (the Managing Director) with my people. You have the clarification. The ball is in their court."

And asked if that was encouraging for fans, he said: “Yes, at the moment it's very clear. The only conversation I have is with Newcastle."
