Quique Sanchez Flores named new coach of Sevilla

Quique Sanchez Flores has been named new coach of Sevilla.

Sanchez Flores takes charge after the dismissal of Diego Alonso on the weekend.

He has signed a deal to 2025 and said: "The biggest scourge on the squad are injuries. There are many players who cannot be on the field. Hopefully those who are here will take that step forward that we need, and of course we are going to do everything possible to have everyone available.

"Right now we have 14 first-team players, and a lot of homegrown boys who, if you have to trust, will be trusted.

"Sevilla have always had an exceptional academy, and therefore we are aware of that.

"We want to convey emotion, passion and hope for success. Work with the enthusiasm that is achieved in what we believe in."

Sanchez Flores added: "I've never had two days so frantic, let alone that they end with a game the next day, but we know what the scenario is and the importance of the clash. We're going to show our face, push with everything, and hopefully there will be more stable days to prepare more."
