Christian Pulisic plans to cut short his summer break to join up with his new Chelsea teammates for preseason.

The 20-year-old is currently away with USA competing in the Concacaf Gold Cup.

The London Evening Standard says Chelsea have a policy of allowing talent involved in summer international fixtures to have extended time off to compensate.

But Pulisic is considering not taking much of a vacation at all, even if the USA go on to lift the Gold Cup.

Chelsea depart for a pre-season tour in Japan just over a week after the showpiece occasion and the attacking midfielder is looking to be on the trip.
