PREMIER LEAGUE: More misery for Villas-Boas as Chelsea slump at West Brom

The pressure mounts on Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas as his team went down to a late goal in the 1-0 reverse at West Bromwich Albion. West Brom have finally beaten Chelsea in the top flight having lost all previous 11 encounters but were good value for the three points today.

For the Blues though it goes from bad to worse as they have now only won three of their last twelve league games and whilst Daniel Sturridge had a couple of scoring opportunities overall Chelsea's defensive frailties continue.

The winner for Roy Hodgson's side gave then a third consecutive league win and arrived with eight minutes remaining as they pressed for a winner.

A corner found its way to Liam Ridgewell whose misdirected shot was turned into goal from close range by Gareth McAuley.
