Portsmouth have rejected a bumper bid from Sunderland for defender Younes Kaboul.
The Mirror says Portsmouth last night rejected Sunderland's offer of £7million pounds plus Anton Ferdinand for sought after defender Kaboul.
The Premier League's bottom club also knocked back Sunderland's cash bid of £9 million pounds to take Kaboul to the Stadium of Light.
Pompey are demanding £14 million pounds to release Kaboul, 24, also wanted by Manchester City and French club Lens.
A Fratton Park source said: "Where are the next generation of centre halves? Who is going to push the likes of John Terry and Rio Ferdinand?
"Kaboul has the quality, he is pushing for a place in France's World Cup squad and his value will soar in the summer."
