Manchester City are still very much in the race for Pep Guardiola.

That is the belief of The Telegraph's Jason Burt who suggests that the Bayern Munich manager could be on his way to the Etihad Stadium soon rather than replacing Louis van Gaal at Manchester Unite as has been reported.

"There's an awful lot of noise around Manchester City in terms of whether or not something has already been agreed," said Burt on Sky Sports' Sunday Supplement program.

"City deny that but a lot of people are talking quite openly about it now, assuming that he is going to go to Manchester City."

Guardiola comes out of contract at Bayern this summer and it is believed he is keen to move on from the German giants and find a new challenge.
