Pearce confident Everton's Vaughan will bounce back

England U21 boss Stuart Pearce is confident Everton striker James Vaughan will bounce back from his latest injury setback.

The striker was handed his Under 21 debut at the European Championships this summer but heartbreak soon followed as the 19-year-old dislocated his shoulder during the pre-season friendly against Preston and is out for up to four months.

"James' injury is a big blow for both club and country," Pearce told evertonTV.

"Having worked with him in the summer and got to know him - he is a game player and got a big heart for the game. I think he has got a big future in the game so it is disappointing for all concerned.

"He has got the right mental approach to get himself back and vie for a place in the team. He is hopefully going to play a big part for Everton and for the Under 21s and maybe beyond that."
