Paco Lopez has spoken after his dismissal by Granada on Sunday.

Lopez had guided Granada to promotion from the Segunda Division last season, having taken charge in November 2022.

But he paid with his job after a slow season so far.

He said, "I understand the decision and the situation. I am the first one who wants the best for this club and I hope this change serves so Granada stays in the Primera Division.

"I feel like I'm leaving a place where I've received a lot of love from people, football is in the background. We have given our all in everything we have done to make this happen well, but the results have not come out. I feel anger on the one hand and gratitude for the affection.

"There are difficult moments, but I cannot forget that in the first months we were a certain distance from direct promotion and we lived every day in a very intense way. I will never forget the end of the game against Leganés, we took a weight off my shoulders and I will never forget that image, the amount of people at the Fountain of Battles and seeing them so happy, those images are indelible.

"There have been difficult moments, this season more than last, in the Primera Division it is clear that you are going to lose more games than in Segunda, but I always try to stay with the good, the bad moments are to analyse and improve. Everything we have experienced in this city has been positive."
