Onana: Doucoure treated poorly at Everton

Everton youngster Amadou Onana has claimed teammate Abdoulaye Doucoure was poorly treated this season.

The 30-year-old was even told to train by himself for a week before previous manager Frank Lampard was fired.

Since Sean Dyche came into the club, Doucoure has been given a new lease of life, and has rewarded his boss with vital goals to keep the team in the Premier League.

Speaking to French publication L'Equipe, Onana said: "I was very happy that he was the savior of this club. He's a friend, not just a teammate.

"He has seen all the colors this season. He went through ups and downs. At one point, he was sent to the reserve team. For me, he was disrespected at times.

"But I always knew the quality he had, the things he was capable of on a daily basis in training. He is a worker. He deserves it. This goal was also liberating for him."
