NYRB boss Backe expects ex-Schalke keeper Rost to depart

New York Red Bulls coach Hans Backe is of the belief that veteran goalkeeper Frank Rost will leave the club this winter.

The 38-year old German joined the Red Bulls in July after completing his contract with Hamburg SV following a long career in his homeland with the likes of Werder Bremen and Schalke.

Rost made 14 appearances for New York during his stay but it appears as though he may be heading home soon.

"I think Frank will go back. I'm quite sure," Backe told the NY Post.

"I hope I don't say too much, but I'm quite sure he likes to go back to Germany. I haven't talked to him yet, but I guess it is like that."
