Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga has welcomed the appointment of new Sweden coach Jon Dahl Tomasson.
The former Blackburn Rovers manager has signed a contract for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, which will be automatically extended if Sweden makes it to the tournament.
"He is the first foreign national team coach with us. It will be really interesting to work with him," Elanga told Discovery+.
"He was a great striker in his day, so I think especially everyone in the attacking department is licking their lips because they know he was a skilled striker who won a lot of trophies. It will be fine."
Elanga doesn't care that the new national team coach is from Denmark.
"It's a new generation and a new era, so I feel we needed something different, and now it's finally in place," he says.
"Hopefully it can be the start of something big for the Swedish national team."
