Nottingham Forest seek loan club for goalkeeper George Shelvey

Nottingham Forest are seeking a loan club for goalkeeper George Shelvey n in January.

Shelvey, 21, is looking for his first taste of regular senior football after a trio of failed loan moves at Truro City, Wealdstone and Mansfield Town.

The Forest academy graduate spent the first half of last season with League Two outfit Mansfield but failed to make a league appearance, only featuring three times in the EFL Trophy while conceding eight goals.

Journalist Alan Nixon reports Reds head coach Steve Cooper has "opened the door" for him to go out on loan in the January window, which opens in just 13 days' time. Shelvey is some way down the pecking order at Forest, with Dean Henderson, Wayne Hennessey, Jordan Smith, Ethan Horvath and Adnan Kanuric all ahead of him.
