Norwich can survive without Lambert says Martin

Russell Martin is backing Norwich City to continue their development as a Premier League club despite the loss of manager Paul Lambert.

The 42-year old has left his post at Carrow Road to take the Aston Villa job but defender Martin does not believe it will do anything to harm the progress the club has made over the past three seasons.

"No, I do not think so. Unfortunately, that is the game. Obviously we are disappointed, but he has made the decision which is best for his career," Martin told Sky Sports.

"We owe that to him to let him go on with our best wishes. As players, as individuals and as a team, he has helped us enormously.

"I do not think we worry at all. The club and the chief executive and the board members will have their candidates in place.

"There will be a lot of people wanting the job, because it is a great job to take at the minute."
