Norwich boss Alex Neil has lauded Championship side Rotherham United's performance in the Capital One Cup second round tie.

The Canaries emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline but Neil believes Rotherham were a tough side to break down.

Speaking after the game, Neil said: "Rotherham gave a real good account of themselves.

"The game went in tos and fros, we both had dominant spells.

"The one thing you need to do when you come to Rotherham is defend the box well. The team I put out was a strong one capable of winning the game and that proved to be the case."
