Northern Ireland star Lafferty pondering Norwich departure

Norwich City striker Kyle Lafferty is contemplating a January exit from the Canaries.

The 28-year-old has been the hero of Northern Ireland's Euro2016 qualifying campaign after scoring seven goals, but this has not resulted in opportunities at club level.

Lafferty is now looking for regular playing time ahead of the Euros in France next summer and admits that may lead to a Carrow Road departure this winter.

"It's frustrating. I'm doing the right things, heading in the right direction, but you can only do so much," said Lafferty.

"If you're not getting a chance and you're doing the maximum, then you have to ask yourself a question. Norwich and the fans have been brilliant with me and I'd be sad to leave.

"But I've to think about myself, my family, my career. If it is time to leave I'll take the opportunity. There's no point in me sitting in the stands or playing for 15 minutes when there's a massive tournament coming. I think I'll give it until January then sit down with the manager.

"I think I can do a job. Norwich play with a target man and Cameron Jerome is doing a fantastic job.

"If he gets injured and the manager sees me as the next up then, but if not I'll consider my future."
