Newcastle plan to cut loose two midfielders this summer.
Football Insider says Matty Longstaff and Matt Ritchie are both out of contract in the summer and neither will be offered a deal with interest mounting for the pair.
Longstaff is currently on the road to recovery after his loan spell with Colchester United was cut short by a serious knee injury. The 22-year-old 'sees himself moving on in the summer', and his spell on the sidelines has not deterred Championship and League One clubs from expressing an interest.
Ritchie is said to be in a similar boat, with the veteran performer set to depart after becoming a bit-part player in recent seasons. The versatile midfielder is said to have clubs in both England and Scotland 'keen on a deal', with a move to Portsmouth previously linked.
