Tino Livramento knows he faces a battle for a place at Newcastle United.
The summer signing from Southampton impressed in last night's Carabao Cup win against Manchester City.
Livramento told ChronicleLive: "I was happy to win the game. It all came together in the second half and we deserved to win the game. I knew the team we were playing against was going to be tough defensively.
"I focused on that part of my game.
"Luckily I put in a few tackles and interceptions and tried to help the team as best as possible. I think I've definitely done that. It was amazing. I think they are the best fans in the league and for me, it is a pleasure to play in front of them."
He added: "I know the position I am in. I have a fantastic player (Kieran Trippier) in front of me. And for me, it is best for me to be in the position where I am training well consistently and performing when given the opportunity to help the team."
