Newcastle are eyeing Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface.

The Sun says Newcastle are considering the 22 year-old for the January market as they seek cover for Alexander Isak.

Newcastle had scouts posted to Portugal last week to see Boniface in action for Nigeria against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.

Although he did not score, Boniface impressed against Roberto Mancini's Saudi Arabia.

Boniface moved from Union Saint-Gilliose to Bayer Leverkusen last summer for €20.5m.
