Newcastle United have recalled Matty Longstaff from his loan with Colchester United.

Longstaff has returned to Newcastle due to a knee injury.

The midfielder, brother of Newcastle player Sean Longstaff, has played 20 games for the Premier League club.

He suffered a bad knee injury sustained on Boxing Day in Colchester's fight against Gillingham.

Longstaff, 22, is now back with Newcastle as they assess their next move.
