Mike Ashley will throw his full support behind Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren.
According to The Telegraph, the Magpies owner is set to make funds available to McClaren in order to bolster his squad in the January transfer window.
Despite spending big on summer arrivals Georginio Wijnaldum, Florian Thauvin, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Chancel Mbemba, the Toon have started the new season poorly and are currently languishing at the foot of the Premier League table.
The pressure mounted even further on McClaren when his side were dumped out of the Capital One Cup at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday midweek but Ashley will continue to back the former England, Middlesbrough and FC Twente boss as well as managing director Lee Charnley and chief scout Graham Carr.
