Newcastle United are in talks with agents for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Newcastle are keen on bringing Milinkovic-Savic to St James' Park and would be happy to pay his requested salary of around £8.7m per year.

That's according to Italian journalist Cino Venerato, who claims that Milinkovic-Savic's minders have already spoken with the Magpies hierarchy regarding a potential move in the not-too-distant future.

However, it is said that the 27-year-old is not overly keen on joining Newcastle as he would prefer to wait for a bigger club to make an approach for his signature.

The Serb is also being linked with Arsenal and Juventus.
