Newcastle United have opened talks to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Paco Alcacer.
The Sun says Newcastle hope to pull off a coup by beating Valencia for the signature of Alcacer.
Boss Steve Bruce has made a move for the Spain international, who has been told he can move on loan in January.
Newcastle are hopeful they can persuade Alcacer to join as he wants to play to boost his chances of making the squad for the Euro 2020 finals.
Newcastle are also willing to discuss a permanent £25million transfer in the summer.
