West Ham United have slapped a £10 million price-tag on James Tomkins.
The Sunday Express says Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew, rocked by Fabricio Coloccini's desire to return to Argentina for family reasons, will reluctantly grant his wish provided he can secure a replacement.
Pardew would love to bring in former England Under-21 international Tomkins, 23.
But Hammers boss Sam Allardyce will only sell if Newcastle are prepared to fork out £10m for a player who has also impressed other Premier League sides.
A deal could also happen if Newcastle allow West Ham to take full-back Danny Simpson to Upton Park.
