Newcastle United are being linked with a surprise move for Ferland Mendy.

The France and Real Madrid left-back has been in impressive form with his club over the past 18 months.

However, FootMercato claims that Newcastle, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain are all tracking Mendy.

The rapid defender does have a contract until 2025, but may be tempted by a move if it involves a salary bump.

Newcastle would have to qualify for the Champions League to compete with the other two clubs mentioned for Mendy's signature.

However, they are very much in the running to sign the 27-year-old at present.
