Newcastle United are making a move for Real Madrid midfielder Isco.
The Spain international is off contract in June and on the outer of coach Carlo Ancelotti's plans this season after a row last month.
Isco is prepared to run down his contract, however Newcastle are keen to ferry him away from Madrid in January, says AS.
The midfielder's €6m-a-year wages won't be a problem for Newcastle, which would be prepared to match his current terms.
The stumbling block is Newcastle's position on the Premier League table and whether Isco is willing to join their relegation battle.
