Newcastle United have made an offer to Barcelona and France forward Ousmane Dembele.
ABC reports the 24-year-old's contract with Barcelona will run out at the end of the season so the cash-strapped club has proposed a new contract, but with a pay cut.
As a result, the young Frenchman is considering leaving as a free agent and 'has an offer on the table from Newcastle'.
The Magpies have proposed 'a salary of €15 per year and a signing on bonus of €15m'.
Dembele's agent has 'stalled' negotiations with Barcelona which had prompted the club to consider selling him quickly or 'send him to the stands until the end of the season'.
However, with Xavi taking over from Ronald Koeman as head coach, the player may feel his future would still be best served by staying at Barcelona.
