Newcastle United are set to make an attempt to sign Galatasaray midfielder Lucas Torreira.

The former Arsenal, Fiorentina, and Atletico Madrid star enjoyed a good season in Turkey.

The 27-year-old had a dip in his career due to family and personal issues, but now appears close to his best form.

Per Turkish reports, Newcastle are one of many European teams vying for his signature.

The likes of Lazio and AC Milan are all keen on offering Torreira a route back to a top league.

However, he would cost at least €20 million this summer, as Gala are not eager to sell.
