Newcastle United goalkeeper Shay Given is determined not to be unsettled by links with Bolton Wanderers No1 Jussi Jaaskelainen.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "Of course both Steve Harper and myself have heard all the talk about Jussi coming here.

"But don't forget that both Steve and myself have been at St James's Park a long time and we have heard all this talk and speculation before.

"I know what I can do, and that's what I will be concentrating on and I am sure Steve Harper feels the same."
