Newcastle United are in talks with Fiorentina winger Nico Gonzalez.

TMW says a £30 million approach from Leicester City has already been rebuffed.

Newcastle are in the hunt for the 24-year-old, although the Serie A club are said to be looking for in excess of £40m. A video call has been held between agents and the Magpies, although no offer has yet been submitted.

Fiorentina are determined to hold on to Gonzalez, who has scored five goals in 13 appearances so far this season.

The Argentina international still has three years left to run on his contract, meaning the club is under no pressure to accept a cut-price deal.
