Tino Livramento is confident joining Newcastle United was the right decision.

The fullback knows he could be playing regularly if he'd stayed with Southampton.

On why he made the move, Livramento told Chronicle Live: "The project and the journey. When you look at the squad from the outside and understand the fans, for me it is a pleasure to train with the team or come out in front of the fans on nights like Man City. To play the way we did was great."

The defender added: "It's another great team and great stadium to play at. We feel like we can give anybody a game.

"That is the mentality you have to have if you want to go on and win silverware."
