Newcastle fullback Ashby eager to kickstart Swansea loan

Newcastle United talent Harrison Ashby admits he is keen to kick start his career.

The loanee is spending the campaign at Swansea City in the Championship.

Ashby has yet to play as often as he expected, given the Swans also brought in Josh Key.

He has only played one time as a substitute so far in seven matches after the September international break.

He told the club's website: “Football is a strange game, and things can change very quickly. I hope I have come in and made the most of the opportunity.

“I felt like it went pretty well at Blackburn and we will see what happens, although I should have scored with the chance I had late on so hopefully I'll do better next time I am in that position.

“But I can feel the chemistry growing with the lads, the understanding is coming in terms of how the lads play and how I play alongside them. The gaffer is working with me on the things he wants me to do and improve on. I feel I am getting into a good place and I want to kick on from here."
