Newcastle United are moving along their list of centre-half targets in January.

The Magpies were informed by Lille that Sven Botman is not for sale, per The Telegraph.

They have ended that pursuit, but are not giving up on signing a top class defender this month.

The source claims that Sevilla centre-back Diego Carlos is now their main target.

The 28-year-old is one of the best defenders in La Liga, and has previously been linked to Liverpool and Manchester City.
