Newcastle United are determined to sign Lille defender Sven Botman this summer.

Both Botman and his agent have confirmed Newcastle and AC Milan made attempts for the Dutchman in January - and they were attracted by the Toon's proposal.

The Athletic reports Newcastle will try again for Botman at the end of the season.

Newcastle eventually were turned off last month over the asking price demanded by LOSC.

However, all parties involved accept Botman will be on the move this summer.
