Newcastle United are closing on a deal for West Ham fullback Harrison Ashby.

Sky Sports says Newcastle plan to raid West Ham for Ashby next month.

Eddie Howe has made it clear that Newcastle will slow down their spending in January, but changes could still be made.

It appears as though Newcastle will be looking to bolster their options in defence with Ashby potentially available for a bargain.

The 21-year-old's contract runs out in the summer and Newcastle want to make their move in January.
