Newcastle United may be close to getting one of their prime summer transfer targets.

The Magpies have been hot on the heels of a new right-back to bolster their squad for boss Eddie Howe.

Now talkSPORT states that Newcastle could be close to a £35 million deal to sign Southampton right-back Tino Livramento.

The former Chelsea youth star is the attack-minded wing-back that Howe is seeking.

However, previous offers from Newcastle had been rejected, leading to some doubt regarding a deal.

But the Magpies appear to have upped their offer to the extent that Southampton are ready to accept.
