Newcastle United are interested in Rennes midfielder Desire Doue.

L'Equipe says both Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle are following the 18-year-old.

Both clubs have enquired in recent days about an asking price for the youngster.

Newcastle and Dortmund are expected to bid before the winter transfer window closes.

This season, Doué has played 16 games in Ligue 1, starting four of them. He has scored two goals and one assist.

The attacking midfielder made his debut for France's U21 national team in October.
