Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew will not consider allowing Steve Harper to leave on-loan.

Injuries and Tim Krul's fine form have kept Harper out of the side, but Pardew insists he is going nowhere - and remains competition for the Holland international.

He said: "There is no situation with Steve. Harps and Rob are here as back-up to Tim at the moment because Tim has the jersey. It is as simple as that.

"There is no chance of him going out on loan. None at all."
