Newcastle boss Howe: I feel a responsibility to make Isak a success

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe says he's taking personal responsibility to make Alexander Isak a Toon success.

Howe feels that the Sweden international will prove his worth despite the heavy price tag and that the Magpies were right to push forward and clinch the mega deal from Real Sociedad.

Howe said: "I definitely have a responsibility regards to price, I feel that responsibility. I don't I'd sign a player at any cost, it's not the way to act.

"It's very difficult because transfer fees are...it's an incredible market. I could never sit here and say value for money just for the price.

"You could look at the market, and I think it's a good deal otherwise I wouldn't have pushed so hard to try to do it (sign Isak).

"Transfer prices are away from any type of realism from when I was playing. But you just have to adapt to the times.

"If you don't adapt to the times and go with it then you don't improve."
