Newcastle boss Howe eager for Guimaraes to go full throttle against Arsenal

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is full of praise for midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

The no.39 has been excellent in recent weeks, driving the team back up the league table.

Howe was particularly happy with how Guimaraes played the last time his side took on Arsenal, beating them 1-0 earlier in the season.

"You need your creative players to fire and your defensive players to fire in a different way," the Newcastle boss told reporters on Friday morning, as they take on Arsenal on Saturday.

"He had that balance right in the home game where he was very competitive but also very good technically. We need all players to fire in all departments."

"He's managed it really well so far," Howe added on Guimaraes being close to a two-game yellow cards ban.

"He's just been his normal self. He hasn't looked as though it's conscious in his mind because I don't think it can be. He's played with discipline."
